Back and side yards rebuilt as one outdoor space

The back and side yards had stopped being usable. They were cleared right back to bare ground, then rebuilt as a single outdoor space with a paver walkway running through it.
What the site was doing
The side yard had been given over to an air conditioning unit, loose gravel and a run of bare dirt between two walls. There was nothing to walk on and nothing worth looking at, so the whole strip had become the part of the garden nobody used.
What we did
The ground was cleared and levelled, then a brick paver path was laid from the patio through to the gate. Triple foxtail palms were set along the run to give the walls some height, with bougainvillea planted underneath for colour against the white stucco.

How it stands now
The path connects the back and side yards into one space, and the planting is dense enough that the walls read as a garden edge rather than a boundary.
